Community Guidelines

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Respect & Kindness

Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Harassment, bullying, hate speech, and discriminatory language of any kind are not tolerated. Behind every conversation on Care to talk is a real person with real feelings, often opening up about something they care deeply about.

18 and Over Only

Care to talk is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the app. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 will be removed without warning. Providing a false birth date to bypass this requirement is a serious violation of these guidelines and may also be a violation of the law in your jurisdiction.

Privacy & Anonymity

Care to talk is anonymous by default — your real identity is yours to share, not anyone else's to demand. Profile reveals are mutual: both parties must explicitly agree before identifying details are exchanged. Never pressure others to reveal more than they're comfortable with, and never share another user's information, photos, or messages outside the app.

Appropriate Content

Do not send sexually explicit, violent, illegal, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate content in chat messages, shared images, status updates, or your profile. Spam, advertising, commercial solicitation, and repeated unwanted contact are prohibited. Care to talk is a place for honest conversation, not for selling, promoting, or deceiving.

Honest Communication

Be genuine in your interactions. Impersonation, catfishing, fake profiles, and misleading information about your age, identity, or intentions are not allowed. Misrepresenting yourself undermines the trust that makes deep conversation possible, and may result in account removal.

Reporting Issues

If you experience or witness behavior that breaks these guidelines, use the in-app report feature. You can report a specific message, a user's profile, or a status update — include a brief reason so our moderation team can review the context. All reports are reviewed by humans, not algorithms.

Blocking and Personal Boundaries

You can block any user at any time. Blocking is bidirectional — once you block someone, neither of you can see each other in matching, neither of you can send messages, and neither of you receives notifications about the other. You don't need a reason to block, and you don't need to report someone in order to block them.

Consequences for Violations

Violations of these guidelines may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account removal, depending on the severity and pattern of the behavior. Severe violations — such as threats, illegal content, or coordinated harassment — may result in immediate removal without warning. We take action to keep the community safe.

Stay Safe Out There

Take your time getting to know someone online before sharing personal details, meeting in person, or revealing your identity through profile reveal. If something feels off, trust your instincts: pause the conversation, block the user, or end the chat. Care to talk is designed to support deeper conversations, but your safety always comes first.
